Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Course Objectives
To provide candidates with the understanding & confidence in the use of Portable Appliance Testers, recording data and the use of associated equipment.
Course Content
● Current Electrical & Local Legislation.
● Electrical terminology and the principles of electricity.
● Classes of Appliance.
● Appliance cord sets and IEC leads.
● 110v Testing principals.
● Visual and combined testing.
● Using different Portable Appliance Testers and interpreting the data.
● Recording and Labelling.
● Testing Frequency.
● Information on different PAT machines.
Who should attend - Any person required to test electrical items to prove their electrical safety.
Assessment - Candidates will complete a number of practical exercises throughout the day and complete a multiple choice examination at the end of the course.
Please note: All our courses are delivered in English. All delegates must have a good understanding of written and spoken English to attend this course.
A Certificate of Training will be awarded to each successful candidate.
NOTE: Candidates do not need any previous electrical experience.
